Luton v Forest Preview
By: Stuart | October 27th, 2007
The Reds haven’t played Luton for thirteen years, so this will be an unfamiliar fixture for both sides. In that game it was our defenders that won the match, with Colin Cooper and Stuart Pearce scoring in a 2-0 win, and Colin Calderwood may have to rely heavily on his backline this afternoon.
Both Nathan Tyson and top scorer Junior Agogo have been struggling with injuries this week as well as in-form Wes Morgan, while Grant Holt needs a hernia operation. James Perch joins the list as well, while the never-present Scott Dobie is also injured.
The game at Kenilworth Road will arguably be Forest’s toughest away fixture so far this season, and they will be desperate to keep their unbeaten run on the road intact. However, with the injuries up front it will be important for the defence to add an eighth clean sheet to their tally, just in case goals are hard to come by.
Forest have slipped to fifth in League One, but have a game in hand on everyone above them and have played two less than leaders Tranmere, who they trail by three points. Forest have a chance to go top today, but only if they win and Southend and Carlisle draw against each other.
I think it’ll be a tough game for Forest this afternoon, but I’m going to go with a 2-1 away win.
Finally, I won’t be able to post for a few days. I’ll be at work when the game finishes and then I’m going to stay at my girlfriend’s, and she has no internet connection. It’s like going back to the Stone Age.
So instead I’ll sign off with this video from the 05/06 season, when we stuffed Swindon 7-1 at the City Ground.
